Welcome to
Your Home away from Home
in the Montana Mountains. |
|
Thank you for checking out our home for your stay in Montana. We are approximately 10 minutes from
Thompson Falls, which is in the beautiful valley of the Cabinet
Mountain Range.
We have provided photos of our home to
show you what we have to offer the lonely traveler, friend or family
member.
The Last Resort is a completely furnished
downstairs apartment with it's own entrance for your privacy. With
two bedrooms, a living room, full Bath and a cozy Kitchenette, this
truly is a home away from home. There is also a full sized futon
in the living area if your party requires an additional bed.
The Last Resort is a NON-SMOKING home.
We have provided chairs, a little table and an ashtray can on the
patio just outside your front entrance as a smoking area.
Please be aware that we have 3 cats that live with us upstairs. All
precaution is taken during the cleaning process to eliminate any
trace of the furry little critters, and have an added privacy door
at the top of the stairs that connects to the upper level of the
house to keep them upstairs at all times. However, due to the
sneakiness of these adorable and friendly pets of ours, we can not
guarantee an allergy free environment for those of you with
allergies to cats.
If you require additional information, please contact us at
406-827-5683 or email us at
The Last Resort
We look forward to your visit here, as we hope that you will enjoy
it as much as we do!

Our Bedroom Suite offers the comforts of home with a full size bed,
loveseat couch, coffee table and an antique armoire for your
clothing.
This is my favorite view spot in the lower house. Sitting or reading
on the couch gives for a wonderful view of our local wildlife.

This quaint but
smaller bedroom offers a full size bed, Chiffarobe for clothing,
hamper and chair.

Here are some
photos of our surroundings and local wildlife...
Our home sits
on a hill surrounded by mountains.
Our 20 acre property is off of the main road by 1/3 of a mile.
The walk to the forest service road is about 1/2 of a mile. The hike
up to mile marker 1 is relatively easy, but steep at times. Once you
get past mile marker 2, it's flat for another mile. Past that, I
don't know because a 6 mile hike is about my maximum for a day hike.

Our Front
yard has a lawn for the deer to eat (green part at bottom) and a
natural clearing where the Does gather with their young to feast on
apples that we throw out once in awhile.
It's customary in our neck of the woods to keep the animals around,
so we do take care to supplement their diet as the seasons require.
Wild Turkeys
make their way around as well. Usually in groups of 60 or more...
Here's "Boo Boo" Bear.
This shot was taken by the pond in early Spring 2005 and we haven't
seen him since.

Our meager
sized pond gives the animals water and for some, a bath.. From the
Bedroom suite if you open the windows you can hear the beautiful
trickle of the fountain.

Privacy is just one
of our special wonders out here at The Last Resort. Don't be fooled,
we have neighbors close by if by chance an emergency arises, however
we promise that by staying here you will find peacefulness,
tranquility and harmony with nature.
Bring your family here for good old time family fun. Take a walk in
the nearby National Forrest via service roads... Drive into town (10
miles to Thompson Falls, 12 miles to Trout Creek) and visit our local merchants
for some mouth watering huckleberry chocolate, taffy, coffee and
more.
Montana is said to be the last great place... Come for a visit and
see for yourself!
Sincerely,
Tamra and Dave

What our Guest's have had to say about The Last Resort...
Nov 2005 - Friend of a
local Trade School - "Man this was great! All the privacy I needed and
wildlife to keep me company. Like being at
home - Real Comfortable!" A

Feb 2006 - Family Members of Local Neighbors -
"Really Classy! We didn't expect it to be so clean and well decorated. For once
we didn't have to put up with that "Old Smoke" smell that so many other places
have. We are going to come again and would recommend this place highly." A+

June 2006 - Family members of the guests noted
above - "We were extremely pleased with the privacy of having our own entrance.
We thought at first when Mom suggested we stay here that we would have to be let
in to our rooms by the owners of the house. Boy were we pleasantly surprised
when we arrived to our own key and a huge bedroom that was really romantic. We
are looking forward to coming again when we visit our family. Would recommend
this place over any other. Really clean and decorated nicely. Great touches of
rustic wilderness that make it homey." A++

October 2006 - "This was the perfect spot for
us to be. Coming from out of state, we were so pleased to be able to find a
place that was private, but not too far from town. Our family really needed private time
away from the hustle and bustle of town to work on our Family Plan
after graduation. We found this place to be a piece of
paradise and truly a home away from home for us. We were able to get through
what could have been a really tough family time with the piece of mind and
privacy that we really needed. Definitely would recommend this place for anyone!" A+
